Your cozy corner of the internet

A small independent corner of the internet for when you have nothing to do and infinite apps somehow still feel wrong. We are not a startup pitch deck. We are a couch with better links.

We do not fix that

Mood

The pitch, the vibe, and the catch

The pitch

I Am Bored is one warm hub for reading and having fun. No account, no app store guilt trip, no "unlock premium boredom" nonsense. Just pages that load and ideas that respect your attention span.

The vibe

Paper textures, hand-drawn doodles, an orangutan who occasionally judges you from the hero section. We take leisure seriously enough to make it fast, and silly enough to never feel like homework.

The catch

We are still building. Some destinations are placeholders, and the 404 page has a flee game on desktop because of course it does. We would rather ship honest rough edges than fake polish.

Two paths

What you can do here

Every page fits one mood. Pick a door, or wander like you already do everywhere else.

The story

Why I Am Bored exists

Why this exists

The internet already has infinite content. We still end up bored anyway. That is rarely because nothing exists. It is because nothing fits this exact mood, this exact ten-minute window, this exact level of brain tired.

I Am Bored started as a simple idea: one place that feels cozy instead of loud. Read something short. Have fun. Leave when you are done. No streaks to maintain. No feed to defeat.

We are not trying to replace the whole internet. We are trying to be the one tab that actually matches the vibe when everything else feels like homework.

Who this is for

You, probably, if any of this sounds familiar:

  • You have seventeen tabs open and none of them are hitting
  • You want a break that does not turn into a two-hour scroll spiral
  • You like listicles, mini games, or short fiction without a paywall lecture
  • You are at work and want something legal-ish that will not get you fired (we wrote a post about that too)

Who it is not for: people selling crypto, gambling promos, or "growth hack my boredom SaaS" outreach. Our contact page has a whole list. It is not flattering, and it is not changing.

How we pick what to build

We bias toward ideas that load fast, work on mobile, and respect a short session. A good blog post answers a real question without padding. A good game is fun in under five minutes and does not need a tutorial video.

We borrow inspiration from cozy internet toys, classic list sites, and fiction you can finish before the kettle boils. We do not copy and paste other people's work or scrape paragraphs to fool search engines. Life is too short, and so is your patience.

If we would not bookmark it ourselves on a slow Tuesday, it does not ship. The bar is cozy, not corporate.

Values

What we believe

Tap a card if you need a tiny wiggle of agreement.

Fast and light

Pages should load before your motivation dies. Games stay small. We are allergic to install prompts and loading bars that feel like a part-time job.

Human first

Real intros, honest FAQs, articles written for people who are actually bored. Algorithms can suggest. Humans should still sound human.

Playful, not childish

Warm paper vibes and silly toys, no talking down to anyone. You can be an adult and still enjoy a random button that picks your next distraction.

No dark patterns

No fake urgency, forced sign-ups, or guilt-trip pop-ups. You are bored enough. We are not adding emotional debt on top.

Manifesto

Why bother?

The problem is rarely a lack of options. It is friction, noise, and nothing feeling right for this exact mood. We exist to reduce that friction with one warm place for leisure.

The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.

Ellen Parr

Whether you are killing ten minutes or reclaiming a lazy Sunday, we meet you where you are. Boredom is not a bug. It is often the quiet moment right before something good happens. Or before you open another tab. Both count.

Roadmap

Where we are headed

Ambitious for a site whose mascot sometimes flees the cursor.

  1. 01

    Now

Homepage playground, trust pages, paper hero era, orangutan diplomacy phase.

  2. 02

    Next

Blog posts, Have Fun landings, more fiction, fewer dead ends.

  3. 03

    Soon

AdSense when the quality bar is met, more tools, seasonal collections, maybe chaos.

Editorial

How we write

Useful ideas, clear structure, honest length. No keyword stuffing cosplay. No AI slurry pretending to be wisdom. When we use outside code or assets, we credit them like adults.

Honest biz

How we earn (later)

Free today. Later, maybe AdSense, relevant affiliate links, small digital extras. We update Privacy before any tracking changes. We do not sell your data because we like sleep.

Promises

What you can expect from us

  • Original content and games we can stand behind in daylight
  • Privacy updates before we turn on heavy analytics or ads
  • Internal links that help you find the next fun thing, not trap you in a maze
  • A mascot that sometimes runs from the cursor on the 404 page (desktop only, we are not monsters)
  • Bug reports read by humans who are also occasionally bored
  • No "subscribe to our newsletter" popup before you read a single sentence

FAQ

Questions you might actually ask

Short answers. No corporate fog machine.

01 Are you a big company?

No. We are a small independent site. There is no boardroom, no venture funding slide, and no employee named Synergy. Just pages, games, and an orangutan with opinions.

02 Do I need an account?

No. Browse, read, and have fun without signing up. If we ever add optional accounts for saves or comments, we will say why and what we store before you click yes.

03 Why two paths: Read and Have Fun?

Because boredom is not one mood. Sometimes you want words. Sometimes you want a web toy or a rabbit hole. Two doors beat one infinite feed.

04 Is everything finished?

Honest answer: not yet. Some links still point at pages we are building. We shipped the homepage and trust sections first so you know who we are before we ask you to wander deeper.

05 Can I suggest something?

Yes. Visit the contact page. Game ideas, typos, story pitches, and polite chaos are all welcome. We cannot build every suggestion, but the good ones sometimes become the next featured page.

06 What about ads and tracking?

Not the main event today. When analytics or ads go live, we update the Privacy policy first. We would rather tell you upfront than smuggle it in through a cookie the size of a novel.
