Why a real inbox actually matters here

I Am Bored is a small independent site. There is no support ticket software routing your message through three departments before a human sees it. There is no chatbot pretending to understand your bug report. Every message that comes through this form or this email address gets read by the same one or two people who build the site, write the posts, and occasionally forget to fix a broken link for a week too long.

That means replies are not instant. It also means they are real. If you report a bug, you are talking to someone who can actually go fix it, not someone reading from a script. If you pitch a guest post, the person reading it is the same person deciding whether to publish it. If you send something weird or funny, someone here genuinely appreciates that, because running a website about being bored attracts a specific kind of person, and we like that kind of person.

Quick prompts

Topic guides

What are you reaching out about?

Pick the closest match. Being specific here gets you a faster, more useful reply than a generic "hey I have a question" message.

Bug report

Bug report

Something broken, slow, or behaving weirdly. The most useful bug reports include:

  • What page or game you were on (a link helps more than a description)
  • What device and browser you were using (phone, laptop, Chrome, Safari, whatever it was)
  • What you expected to happen versus what actually happened
  • Whether it happens every time or just once

You do not need to write a formal QA report. "The Sudoku timer freezes on my iPhone after I pause once" is plenty. We would rather get a rough, honest description than nothing at all because it felt like too much effort to explain.

Game idea

Game idea

Got a mini game you wish existed here, or a tweak to an existing one. Tell us the core mechanic in a sentence or two, what makes it fun, and roughly how long a session should last. We lean toward games that are fun inside five minutes and do not need a tutorial video, so pitches that fit that shape get a faster yes.

Story pitch

Story and blog pitches

Original guest posts and short fiction pitches are welcome. A good pitch includes a working title, two or three sentences on the angle, and a sample of your writing if this is your first time reaching out. We credit published pieces under the byline or handle you choose. We do not pay contributors yet, this is a small independent site, not a marketplace, and we say that upfront so nobody is surprised later.

We do not accept AI-generated filler dressed up as an article, scraped or lightly reworded content from other sites, or paid link insertion disguised as a guest post. If you are pitching sponsored content, say so directly in the first line, tell us the brand, the audience fit, and why our specific readers would care. Vague "we'd love to collaborate" outreach with no specifics gets deleted, politely.

Write for us

Guest post and write-for-us details

If you run a boredom, leisure, gaming, or lifestyle blog yourself and want to write for I Am Bored specifically, this is the section for you. We are actively open to genuine guest contributors who understand short-form, high-utility writing, the kind of thing someone would actually read start to finish during a work break or a lazy afternoon. Send a short pitch, one working title, and a link to something you have written before if you have it. First-time writers without a portfolio are still welcome, a strong two-paragraph writing sample in the message itself works fine.

Press

Partnerships and press

Media inquiries, collaboration proposals, or partnership ideas from other sites or brands. Include who you represent, what the proposal actually is in plain language, and why it fits a site about leisure and boredom specifically. Generic PR-agency blast emails with no specific fit to this site get deleted without a reply, this is not a judgment on your client, it is just not the right audience.

Other

Something else

General feedback, a typo you spotted, a kind word, or a complaint about the mascot's attitude. All of it gets read.

After you send

What happens after you send a message

No black hole. Here is how mail moves through a small indie site.

  1. 01

    Your message arrives

It lands in a real inbox, checked regularly, not a shared support queue.

  2. 02

    We triage by topic

Bug reports that block core functionality (a game that will not load at all, a broken checkout or contact flow) get prioritized over general feedback.

  3. 03

    We reply when we can

Typical reply time is a few business days. Complex pitches or partnership proposals can take longer since they need more thought than a bug fix does.

  4. 04

    Some notes need no reply

If your message needs no reply (a compliment, a small typo report already fixed), you might not hear back, but it was still read and still mattered.

Checklist

Before you hit send

01

Pick the right topic

Choose the closest match in the compose helper. Specific categories get faster, more useful replies than a generic hello.

02

Be specific

One clear request per email is easier to action than a laundry list of unrelated asks.

03

Link the page

If something broke, paste the URL. If you are pitching content, link to similar work you admire on our site.

04

Add proof when pitching

Guest posts and game credits need a name or handle you are comfortable publishing, plus a writing sample or portfolio link when you have one.

Privacy

Privacy and how we handle your message

If you email us or use the contact form, we use your message and contact details only to respond to you. We do not add you to a marketing list from a support email, and we do not share your message with third parties. If you want a past message or any data associated with it deleted, say so and we will handle it within a reasonable timeframe. Full details live on the Privacy page, this section exists so you do not have to go looking for that answer separately.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers. No corporate fog machine. Still stuck? Use the compose helper above or email us directly.

01 Do you have a contact form, or just an email address?

Both. Use the form on this page to send a message directly. We email your note to our inbox and send you an automatic confirmation that we received it. You can still write us at our email address if you prefer.

02 How fast do you actually reply?

Most messages get a reply within a few business days. Bug reports that block core pages or games are typically prioritized over general feedback or partnership pitches, which can take a little longer since they need more consideration.

03 Can I suggest a new game or blog topic?

Yes. Choose Game idea or Story pitch when reaching out. Specific pitches with a clear mechanic or angle, rather than a vague "you should make a game about X," are far more likely to actually get built or written.

04 Do you accept guest posts?

Yes, original guest posts and story pitches are welcome and credited under the byline or handle you choose. Contributors are not currently paid, since this is a small independent site rather than a publication with a writer budget.

05 Do you pay for guest posts or sponsored content?

Not currently for guest posts. Paid, clearly labeled sponsored content or partnerships are considered case by case, but generic paid link insertion into existing articles is never accepted regardless of payment offered.

06 What makes a guest post pitch stand out?

A working title, two or three sentences describing the angle, and either a portfolio link or a short writing sample in the message itself. Pitches that could run on any blog anywhere tend to get passed over in favor of ones written specifically with this audience in mind.

07 Can you recover my saved game score or progress?

Usually not. Most game scores and progress on this site are stored only in your browser's local session and were never sent to a server, so there is nothing on our end to restore if it gets cleared or you switch devices.

08 Is this site run by a company or one person?

I Am Bored is a small, independent operation, not a company with departments. Messages are read by the same small team, often the same one or two people, who build the site and write the content.

09 Do you respond to press or media inquiries?

Yes, if the inquiry is specific to this site and states clearly who you represent and what the request actually is. Generic PR-agency blasts with no relevant fit to a leisure and boredom website are not prioritized.

10 How do I report something offensive or inappropriate on the site?

Use the contact form or email, describe what you saw and where, and include a link if possible. Reports like this are treated as a priority since they affect the experience for everyone else visiting the site.

11 Will my personal information from a message be shared or sold?

No. Contact details and message content are used only to respond to you and are not shared with third parties or added to a marketing list.

12 Can I request my data be deleted after contacting you?

Yes. Email the same address you used to reach out, state what you want deleted, and it will be handled within a reasonable timeframe. Full policy detail is on the Privacy page.

13 I sent a message and heard nothing back, what happened?

Some messages, like simple compliments or typo reports that were already fixed, do not always get an individual reply even though they were read. If your message needed a response and it has been more than a week, it is fine to send a polite follow-up, it may have been missed.

14 What is the best way to get a fast response?

Pick the correct topic category, be specific rather than vague, and include a link or screenshot if the issue involves a particular page or game. Specific messages are simply faster to act on than general ones.

Ready to send

Still have something to say?

Pick a reason above, write what is actually going on, and send it. A real person reads every message. That is the whole system, no ticket number required.
