Best Truth or Dare Questions (Clean and Bold Editions)

150+ Truth or Dare questions and dares, split into Clean and Bold editions. Genuinely funny, always appropriate, no explicit content. Free to use, no login.

Best Truth or Dare Questions (Clean and Bold Editions) | I Am Bored

Truth or Dare has been getting people to embarrass themselves in front of their friends for generations, and it still works because the format never gets old: pick truth and answer honestly, or pick dare and do something a little ridiculous. Below are over 150 fresh prompts split into two editions, Clean, for family game nights, sleepovers, and mixed groups where you want zero risk of anything awkward, and Bold, for closer friend groups who want bigger laughs and deeper questions. Both editions stay entirely appropriate, no explicit content, no alcohol focus, and no dares that could actually hurt anyone. That’s not an accident, most lists in this space bury the good clean content under a pile of spicy material before you ever reach it. This one doesn’t.

Looking for a similar party-game energy with a built-in tool instead of a list? Our Never Have I Ever game runs 1,000 prompts across dozens of categories, kept genuinely all-audience friendly the same way this list is.

How to play Truth or Dare

  1. Sit in a circle, or just face each other, a couch works fine.
  2. Take turns asking the next player: “Truth or dare?”
  3. If they pick truth, ask a question from the list and they answer honestly.
  4. If they pick dare, give them a dare from the list and they attempt it.
  5. Rotate to the next player, either clockwise or by picking whoever seems least prepared.

A few ground rules worth setting before you start

  • Nobody has to answer a truth or complete a dare that makes them genuinely uncomfortable. A quick “pass” should always be allowed, even if the classic rules say otherwise, comfort matters more than the rules of a party game.
  • Keep dares physically safe. Nothing that risks injury, nothing involving substances, nothing that could actually hurt someone even as a joke.
  • Match the edition to your group. Clean works for literally any mixed group, family gathering, or younger crowd. Bold is built for a closer group of friends who already know each other well and are comfortable being teased a bit harder.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about this article. No fluff, no sign-up wall.

Is Truth or Dare appropriate for kids?

Yes, with the Clean edition specifically. Stick to the clean truths and dares above, skip anything from the Bold section, and keep the tone light and silly rather than embarrassing.

How many players do you need?

Two people can play, though three to eight tends to be the sweet spot for keeping energy up without anyone waiting too long for their turn.

What if someone doesn't want to answer or do their dare?

Allowing a pass, even if the classic rules technically don't include one, keeps the game fun rather than pressuring anyone into real discomfort. Comfort matters more than strict rules.

What's the actual difference between the Clean and Bold editions on this page?

Clean stays universally safe for any age or setting. Bold goes bigger and more revealing but never crosses into anything sexual, alcohol-related, or physically risky, just funnier and a bit more vulnerable.

Can this be played over a video call?

Yes, it works the same way remotely as in person, read the prompt aloud and either answer or perform the dare on camera.

Is there a version of this game with a built-in tool instead of a list?

Our [Never Have I Ever game](https://www.iambored.blog/fun-sites/never-have-i-ever/) is the closest thing on this site, a party-game generator with 1,000 prompts, kept just as all-audience friendly as this list.

What if we finish this whole list and want more party game ideas?

Our [Would You Rather questions](https://www.iambored.blog/blog/would-you-rather-questions/) post has 200-plus more prompts in a different format, or browse the full [games hub](https://www.iambored.blog/fun-sites/) for other free options.
